Why) We were
driving through Idaho on a relatively warm weekday morning in
early March when we started to notice all the fly fishermen in
the region's rivers and streams. At some point that day,
we crossed the Salmon river, which surprised us. I
believed that ocean salmon would not travel this far inland to
breed but Pam was convinced that no one would name it the
Salmon River without a real reason for doing so. My
explanation that they named it the Salmon because they were
hungry and hoping to catch lunch did not change her
mind. So, there was nothing to do but get out of the car
and see just what sort of fish were in the river.
