What) The Astoria-Megler Bridge is a continuous truss bridge that spans the mouth of the Columbia River between Astoria, Oregon and Point Ellice near Megler, Washington. The span was the last segment of U.S. Route 101 between Olympia, Washington and Los Angeles, California. At 21,474 ft (6,545 m), it is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.

    Why) Pam grew up in Trail, British Columbia and she spent many days playing in and around the Columbia River.  Despite this early interest, Pam had never seen the spot where the Columbia flows into the Pacific Ocean.  It turned out to be a very powerful experience for her and this was definitely Pam's favourite Buckys on the whole trip.
